Replacing the Hog

Prior to fitting the new hog I had twice run warm epoxy into the area of the hog / hull join to ensure any unseen damage was thoroughly glued back together.

The rest was quiet an easy job.  I bought a piece of Utile pre cut to width, and the maximum depth it would need to go to.  I then cut the slot out, and shaped the underside to the angle of the hull.  I then screwed through from the bottom of the boat to the forward piece, and clamped the parts I could get access to.  I used lots of epoxy to ensure there were no air gaps.  Finished result:

A couple of days later (after lots of boring varnish removing and sanding )I put a small fillet down each side of the hog for added strength.
