This time was spent building the centre board case.  Ensure all your wood is cut to size before, its a lot easier!!  I used a router to radius all the edges, and (sorry Ray!) screw on the inside of the case to hold all in place, along with clamps, whilst the epoxy dried.

The inside of the case had three coats of epoxy before being assembled.

  

  One of the few alterations to the original I made was the length of the diagonal.  There is no rule governing length or angle so I took it slightly further back.  It will now be in the impact zone of my foot when tacking, so hopefully this will stop the case cracking as it does on so many boats.  

   You are not allowed to remove the forward 'horn' wood of your centre board case (as some people do) but it does not add any strength.  I therefore cut lightening holes in the middle of it.  It reduces weight, but then still conforms to the rules.
